The SAT is a standardized college admissions test scored on a scale of 400–1600, combining two 200–800 section scores—Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math.
You can take the SAT multiple times—but each score appears on your record. Some colleges practice "superscoring," combining your highest section scores across attempts.
The digital SAT takes approximately 2 hours and 14 minutes, with two adaptive modules each for Reading & Writing and Math, plus a short break.
No—there is no penalty for incorrect answers. It's best to answer every question, even if unsure.
The SAT is administered multiple times annually. For international students, it is offered in October, December, March, May, August, and additional dates—check the College Board for exact dates. Registration is handled online via College Board.
